Argentine Generals

The latest additions to the Great Paraguayan War collection are these three Argentine mounted officers.

The completion of these will call a pause to the Paraguayan War collection for a while. There will be some more a little later, but I need to wait until the Paraguayan generals and Argentine artillery are released.

Next off the conveyer belt will be another British AWI unit.

  2. Up early again - 4:00 am this morning. Kids already gone to the gym on their way to work. Lovely work on these. This must be quite a collection by now. It's a shame Tarawera has been cancelled, but the way things are going COVID may have rained on it anyway. We're just waiting for it to creep across the border to Queensland again.

    1. 4am just makes me shudder…the collection now totals 488 foot, 81 mounted and 5 guns. There is only a small amount to go, just some generals a few more guns and some Uruguayan infantry. Yes it is a shame about Tarawera but hopefully we can do something special at some point. It has been identified that our latest COVID outbreak snuck in from NSW..and that is a pretty wide border!

  4. More stylish command Mark…

The first one wouldn’t be out of place in the Crimean or even the Franco-Prussian War…

    All the best. Aly

    1. The first one is my favourite, and you are right it would fit in as a general in any French 2nd Empire army.

  5. LOL - your comment above makes my observation even funnier - well in my mind. The first figure bares more than a passing resemblance to the painter, in my opinion! Bloody Covid - I spent half the day driving round Pukekohe delivering freight because one of our couriers out here is in self isolation. Mind you, at least I am out and about!

    1. I thought it bore an astounding resemblance to Adrian! I’d rather be out and about rather than sitting in those infernal conference calls. I did manage some distractions this after have a change this afternoon by cleaning out a blocked drain, but after spending half an hour with my arm nearly 800mm in stinking water I still can’t get the stench out of my nostrils
