Transport

Today’s offering from the basing table is the first if five Napoleonic transport pieces that have been in the lead pile for a few weeks. These first two are Russian models.

The first, the peasant wagon,  will have uses in many eras from The Great Northern War through to the 1920s and at a pinch early to WWII. I can see this wagon carting grain into Sebastopol during the Crimean War.

The second, the three horse ammunition cart, is exclusively Napoleonic.

French, British and Prussian vehicles will follow.

    1. Thank you Phil. I started another model that is quite similar, but with a French driver and a couple of wounded passengers. It should be done in two or three days. Joyeux Noël to you and your family.

  2. Both pieces of transport are very well done, Mark. What your game rules for employing the ammo wagon? Do your rules require artillery resupply?

    1. Thank you Jonathan. I have always liked making up the wagons, but have been a but slow with the ones for my recent Napoleonic armies. After this current batch there will be three or four more. They are usually little more than table dressing, but occasionally we do apply some supply ammunition that require resupply from the trains. These tend to be extemprised rules rather than anything formal..

    1. Thanks Aly. I saw the potential for this piece the moment I saw it on the Perry’s site. I am just finishing the Bavarian wurst wagon at the moment...a magnificent piece.
