It has taken me a while to complete this battalion because it has had to fit around various 'construction' tasks and was interrupted by the first of the seasonal colds.
So the 9th Regiment joins the 5th Regiment and the 6th Jäger Battalion to form von Thiereck's Brigade.
Another great looking unit. Looking forward to when all this work hits the game table.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Hopefully some time in July they may make it to the table.
DeleteGreat work on the Bavarians, Mark! What is the blue “flap” on the tunic under the officer’s chin? Looks like it might be a gorget but I’m puzzled.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct Jonathan, it is a gorget that in the field was worn inside a cornflower blue cover.
DeleteExcellent tip! Making a note of that one.
DeleteI must admit that I broke the rules and painted it in the button colour (silver) on the first unit I did. Subsequent units gave them covered.
DeleteA lovely addition to your Bavarian forces, they look very nice indeed. They have a look of steely determination!
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie. Whether they are steely of not remains to be seen!
DeleteA lovely battalion Mark. Was this one named after the Napoleonic general, or one of his descendants?
ReplyDeleteI assume it is named after him, but I haven't found any corroborating evidence.
DeleteGood work on the unit. Funny how some just take time. looking forward to the
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. I'll probably paint up the figures that I have on hand and finish the commands later...
DeleteExcellent looking Bavarians! Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain
DeleteAnother excellent addition there Mark:).
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve...its a shame I have to wait to finish the other battalions off, but budget restraints and all that...
