As promised in my last post here is a parade of my Austrian light brigade consisting of, left to right, the Grenz Sankt-Georger Regiment, the jÀger battalion, the Hessen-Homberg hussars and a horse battery.
Splendid looking Austrian lights and yes the most hussary of hussars you have to have Hessen Homberg, the same figures primed are inching they're way to the painting tray so I can have a go at the fetching colour combination! Best Iain
Great work, Mark. I love a parade!
ReplyDeleteMe too, but a hard photo to shoot.
DeleteNice Austrians Mark, the array of colours look good on the table and will compliment the German line regiments all white well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris
DeleteA fine parade for sure and well done on getting some decent shots, given it is quite a wide parade you need to capture:).
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, it was difficult to get the light right in the midst of some stormy weather.
DeleteBeautiful stuff Mark, and they look great arranged together on parade.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence. It's nice to see them out of their boxes.
DeleteGreat work Mark.....everyone loves a parade!
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
DeleteGreat combinations of colors, a teaser for the great white horde to follow.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. I like the brown/blue combination of the Grenz every bit as much as the red/green on the hussars.
DeleteIncredibly impressive collection. The Austrians of thus period are very handsome troops.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark. They are handsome indeed. There is a good mix of colours in this brigade.
DeleteEven the dead love a parade. Did you need to use the panoramic lens? đ
ReplyDeleteGreat looking force.
Thanks Stew, no panorama lens, just a standing back with the iPhone then a heavy cropping on the image!

ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain. It is indeed a fabulous uniform, shared with the Kienmeyer, regiment no 8, but the latter had brass buttons as opposed to pewter.
