The occasional ramblings of a historical wargamer
Yet another French Franco-Prussian War infantry battalion - this is the penultimate battalion of the First Division.
The third battalion is under way and should be finished tomorrow.
I think I need a break from the French for a few days after that!
Very cool! I never tire of painting (or seeing) French in pantaloon rouge.
Thanks Jonathan. I too think it is a pretty cool uniform.
Nice work Mark but I am not surprised you need a change of pace for a bit! What have you got available as an alternative to yet more poilus?
The problem is I have nothing else 'in stock' but FPW French (apart from a few odds and ends). I have the urge to make something, but don't know exactly what yet.
Very nice - sometimes switching to terrain building gives the mind the break it needs.
Thanks Norm. I have a couple items in mind, but most likely I will be straight back into the French!
Another splendid French infantry unit, are you getting the matchsticks out?Best Iain
Not sure yet. Need to find a bit of inspiration...
Very nice as usual Mark. Perhaps another gun emplacement as a break? They always come up beautifully under your hands.
I do have a few plastic fences, gabions and barrels kicking around that might make a useful break...
I think you deserve a break too! Great work as always and looking forward to seeing what you might make.
Although I have already glued up the next three battalions...
Very impressive looking regiment. Your 1866-1870 armies are outstanding.
Thanks Mark. The army is coming together.
Man, just cranking them out! 😀
Yep...another battalion will be finished tonight...
Very nice, particularly the faces.
Thanks Stuart. I agree they are really nice faces.
