Brazilian Infantry

I was sorely tempted to title this post “My First Brazilian” because it appealed to my puerile sense of humour, but I changed my mind at the thought of all the terrible puns that might appear in the comments that I would have to counter with some witty riposte, for which I am afraid do not have the energy.

Here is the first of what is intended to be eight battalions of Brazilian infantry. This one is in summer dress, with a mix of kepis (some with white covers) and fatigue caps.
Next I will return to the Paraguayans.

  1. Very nice indeed Mark...
And you decide not to let your puerile sense of humour get in the way.... a close shave indeed.
It is far more grown up to wax lyrical about the miniatures instead....

    All the best. Aly

  2. A lovely looking unit and a wise move re: the Brazilian title. One could almost call it a 'close shave';)

    1. Hmmmm...sorry I can’t think of a response...my ability to string coherent thoughts together ended at around 3:30 pm.

  3. Fab looking unit with impressive flag but if Aly and Steve are examples of what is to come, this exercise will be painful.

    1. Thanks Jonathan. The flag is from the Perry site. In truth I will enjoy the humour after what has been a difficult week.

  6. Great looking unit! They will be a tough nut to crack (see what I did there!) :-) It must be fun to research a wargaming period that is little played generally.

    1. Thankfully there are a few good books on the subject in English. I’ll have to start on some terrain items soon.

    1. Thank you Iain. I think a Spanish style church will be the first piece needed.

  8. Lovely work. I must admit I nearly didn't scroll down any further when my eye caught the 'my first Brazilian' comment, but I'm glad I did. This project is coming along very nicely indeed.

    1. Yes well It doesn’t pay to think of it does it? The project us indeed developing well, but may slow down a bit as I may need to cut back on purchases since have just voluntarily reduced my hours from 40 to 32 per week in the hope that my reduction may help someone hold onto their job in these difficult times.

  9. I would not have shown your self-control...!
Lovely figures and a delight to see, no matter how the marketing department sells them (ha, ha)!

    1. Any other week I would have been less “controlled”.
