As I mentioned at the end of my last post, I am being a bit of a butterfly at present with four concurrent projects running. This post shows the first unit, the 2nd Battalion 33rd Régiment de Ligne, before I flutter onto the next.
I finished this sometime last week, but have only just given the final touches to the bases.
Another success, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil. More and more to come!
DeleteLooking pretty good Mark. The Perry generic French are a great figure to paint.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robbie, you are right, the mix of greatcoat and full dress makes for great looking units - quick and easy to paint.
DeleteAnother nice job on these Perry French infantry Mark - how many battalions is that now for the 1813 project?
ReplyDeleteThat's 12 down , 5 to go...plus two chasseur a cheval regiments. Things are stacking up on the painting desk with fivecvarying units in various stages of completion.
DeleteThe mix of uniform adds a lot of interest. Really gives them that campaign look.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan. I think mixing the colours of the greatcoats and shako covers makes a difference too. It gives that really ragged look. The original plan was to do entire battalions in either full dress and greatcoat, but I am glad now that I chose to mix them up.
DeleteLovely looking French line, steaming through them!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Yes - got the bit between the teeth and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
DeleteAnother fine unit Mark...
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly flying through them.
All the best Aly
Thanks Aly. The rate of production is directly related to the level of stress I have in the real world at present. The ability to sit quietly for two or three hours in an evening and just paint toys is sheer bliss. I suspect that productivity will decrease as the weather improves and chores are found for me in the garden...plus I am rapidly running out of storage for the little men!
