Half way through another unit of foot now, should be finished tomorrow. Then there are just two more units of cavalry to finish the Ottomans. I hope to have them all finished by the end of next week.
Yes the look impressive, but I supect that when they get on the table they will be as ineffecive as they were in real life, although they will, I am sure, provide their British allies the cavalry support that they lack.
You can't see it in the images, but I even gave the command officer some copper or gilded armour on the back of his horse, after seeing some of the Mameluke armour in the Musée de l'Armée.
Another great looking addition to this collection Mark!

DeleteWonderful work, Mark! This will be a colorful army once completed.
ReplyDeleteThe next unit of foot is much less colourful...almost black and white actually.
DeleteThe Ottoman army is so beautiful...excellent job, impressive close ups!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil.
DeleteStorming Ottomans indeed! These look great and the simple conversions work really well!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain

DeleteFabulous Mark!
ReplyDeleteYes they are a lot of fun, aren't they?
DeleteYour conversions work really well Mark...
ReplyDeleteAs bullet magnets go... they are the prettiest I’ve seen in a while.
Although from my experience they are kind of troops that could go one to win a battle single handed...
All the best. Aly
Great work again on these, and I like the way you have included the copper mail on some of the figures for variety,

DeleteReal colourful looking chaps 👍
ReplyDeleteThank Russ. Two more, slighltly less colourful, units are on their way.
