Prussian Artillery, the Final Installment

This post shows not only the 3rd and 4th Heavy Batteries of the 2nd Field Division, 7th Field Artillery Regiment from the Corps Reserve...

...but also completes the whole of the artillery of VII Corps - all fourteen batteries with the divisions of the regiment right to left, First, Second, Third and Horse Divisions. Placed base to base like this the gun line has a frontage of 700mm.

For now, until the Perrys release some mounted generals, work on the Prussians is stopped.

  1. I was hoping you would assemble the entire gun line and it looks spectacular. Great work on all these Mark.

    1. Yes it is impressive, I have to admit, but it was difficult to photograph because of the width. I would have liked to have spaced out the line a little more to get definition between the various divisions, but that would have extended the line to more than a meter.

    1. In some instances the Germans had to leave guns of ou the line because there wasn't enough space to deploy them all.

  4. That is an impressive gun line for sure and one that I've faced over the years, often to be blown away as the French player!

    1. When the French guns are laid out there will be almost the same number of batteries...well field batteries. If we include the mitrailleuse there will be more.
