That is the number of French Franco-Prussian War infantry I have painted since 10 June, 326 of them with red pants.
These last last few vignette bases are what I will use as skirmish markers, as I did with the Prussians. They may also find a role in some sort of skirmish game in the future.
Also completed are a bunch of casualty figures.
These are the last of the French infantry for a month or two.
Mark, your productivity is off the charts! Great job!
ReplyDeleteOddly as productive as that is, at two thirds of the way through the year my count is way down on last year.
Deletenice work centurion
ReplyDeleteThank you, my liege.
DeleteThat is a lot of figures Mark and hard to believe you are down on last year! At least my painting is picking up, but my units vary between 10 figures for Light Infantry, through to 16 for Line, so not too much to paint each time, which certainly helps.
ReplyDeleteFor these units is am doing 18 figures for the advancing poses and 15 for the firing (they just fit in the base better). It makes for quite a comfortable pace for me with five or six figures a night (about three hours of actual paining time).
DeleteSuperb work and you've been very productive
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil...just need to get them on the table now.
DeleteIt is possible to have too much of a good thing. Dashing uniforms with red trousers are a very good thing, but even so...
ReplyDeleteAnd there are an potter 338 figures to go in the project and 326 will have red pants!
Deleteseriously, your paint brush must of been seen as a blur from painting so fast. đ
ReplyDeleteSome have said the "Zorro of the paint brush"...but people say a lot of silly things when they have had too much Tequilla.
DeleteThat is a lot of red pants. Another lovely unit and some great casualty figures. Will they be used for markers?
ReplyDeleteYes that is a lot and half of red paint! I will place the stand in from if a unit that is claiming to have skirmishers deployed.
DeleteWell done! And beautiful looking troops too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark
DeleteVery nice work sir.
ReplyDeleteSo if that's the French done for the now, what's next?
Thanks Dai. Immediate next is some Napoleonic Prussian Grenadiers, then back to the Franco-Prussians for some artillery (French and Prussians) some French cavalry and some Napoleonic Ottomans. Then sometime in October it's back to the French infantry.
DeleteVery impressive Mark…
ReplyDeleteAlan and Michael must love you đ
All the best. Aly
By the time I place the next order for another 19 battalions in late September, I am expecting a Christmas card this year!
DeleteA very impressive total, I'm sure you've had quite enough of the red pants for now!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain...yet there are still plenty more red trousered chaps to come.
