Thanks Jonathan. There are still four more infantry units to go in the Swedes (one is actually done but not based yet). I do have a project extension under way and the Franco-Prussians will keep me going for a while, but otherwise I am a little devoid of ideas (and already exceeding my storage space limits).
I always think the Swedish artillery looks very smart. Great job on them Mark. Every time I see your Swedes I find myself wishing that the Perrys would bring out some later figures.
Thank Lawrence. Oddly the line infantry are much slighter figures…just the pose I guess. Yes some later Swedes would be nice for some 1813 games, but before that I would prefer some early Russians to oppose these Swedes. The only manufacturer of 1807 Russians of note is Brigade Games but at NZ$111 per battalion (landed cost) they are more than double the price of the Perrys and from the experience of a few others in our group much less reliable.
LOL - I THINK I may have finally resolved my BG issue Mark - but the proof of the pudding and all that - had a flurry of emails a few days back but nothing since then.....
Lovely work Mark and look forward to seeing the reserve units.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. The next batch are started and will be finished by Wednesday, but they probably won’t be based for a while…much going on next week.
DeleteVery nicely done. Your Swedes are are terrific project. And on the table a reserve of artillery gives such options.
ReplyDeleteThank Joe. Although they are listed in the OOBs as reserve batteries, the appear to be very small batteries of two or three guns.
DeleteVery nice indeed Mark....I particularly like the shade of blue that the gun carriages are painted in....
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith. It is a mixed colour, but it makes a nice contrast with the dark blue of the gunner’s uniforms.
DeleteSUperb uniform and paintjob!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil.
DeleteGreat work, Mark! With this army almost finished, what is the next project???

DeleteBe interested to see if the pudding is delivered!
DeleteGreat stuff nice to see the Swedes an army barely seen in main stream gaming.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Thanks Stu. Yes it is a nice Napoleonic variation.
DeleteLovely looking guns and crew Mark…
ReplyDeleteThey certainly have a workmanlike look to them.
All the best. Aly
Yes they look like a precision team don’t they? The sort you might see at the Edinburgh tattoo!
