While I have personality figures for my Napoleonic Austrian, Prussian, Russian and Bavarian armies, I have never owned a figure representing Napoleon. Now I do. In fact I have two, one mounted and one on foot (although the foot version is still enroute from Nottingham). I also decided to produce a number of mounted and dismounted staff figures from the Perry range, as much for fun as anything else, but I have a few ideas for their use in some future games.

and the busy headquarters.
There are still another six figures (including Napoleon on foot) to come.
Also, today we played a Napoleonic game, but I didn't take a lot of photos and those that I did came out too dark, affected by the gloomy day outside. I am sure that Keith at
Bydand blog will have a a report with better pictures than I took.
Lovely work on your staff. I have the Russian staff from the Perry's and the French are more numerous and varied in uniform display. Certainly there is a game in a game waiting to be explored using the supercargo displayed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe, there are certainly some stories to be told with these chaps.
DeleteSuperb staff Mark, they'll illuminate your future battlefields!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil.
DeleteVery cool Mark - I have often considered getting these command sets - Wellington as well as Napoleon (although I already have several versions of the latter - at least four - two of which are Minifigs dating from almost 50 years ago!)
ReplyDeleteYes the Wellington set is on the cards.
DeleteThese look great Mark. The Napoleon/Soult/Ali group is a lovely set of figures. You can never have too many Napoleons.
ReplyDeleteIn fact I just realised I already had a Napoléon figure - in my Retreat from Moscow collection I have him in his sleigh. I would still like to get the one of him in Egypt riding the camel.
DeleteI remember him, he starred in a game a couple of years ago.
DeleteHe may need to make another appearance...
DeleteI can point you in the direction of Napoleon on a camel Mark - see link below - I have very nearly bought it myself, having purchased a couple of their personality figures and found them excellent! https://www.jjgprint3d.com/page-d-articles/napol%C3%A9on-en-egypte-28mm
Deletevery nice. I do like personality miniatures in 28mm. If I had the ACW in 28mm i would for sure do all the commanders specifically. I don't see the point with my 15s though. 😁
ReplyDeleteAgreed, it does seem somewhat pointless for ACW 15's...one long-bearded general looks much like the other...blue or gray.
DeleteLovely work there Mark and this is where 28mm really come into its own, with all these figures for command bases, vignettes etc, something that the smaller scales tend to have much less of.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. They are quite a joy to paint.
DeleteSuperb figures Mark and nicely displayed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris. The last of the staff, with Napoleon on foot, has just arrived, so look for it next week...
