Mamelukes, Unit Number Eight...the Penultimate Unit

So here is yet another group of Mamelukes. Again I have done this batch in bright, garish colours befitting the fine silk clothing that they were renowned for wearing.

For the last unit, that will be making its appearance on the painting table soon, I think a more restrained colour pallet will be used.

    1. Colourful indeed...the next unit needs to be more subdued.

    1. Thanks Lawrence. Yes just two units (one mounted and one foot) to finish the whole army!

  3. Lovely work as always and look forward to the contrast of the more subdued colour pallette on the final mounted unit:).

  4. Another highly colourful unit mark - the table will be a riot of colour when you get this army into action, that's for sure!

  6. I think they look great.
Why go more subdued with the last unit? Anything worth doing twice is worth doing thrice. Course, I realize that as I write this you probably have half the unit already painted. 😀

    1. Not quite half done...about a third. I did think of adding some glitter as a final flourish for the last unit, but restrained myself. It is getting hard to come up with the killer colour combinations hence the more subdued approach...although thr first three figures are hardly subdued.
