Russian Horse Artillery

These two horse batteries complete the great Allied cavalry expansion.

These two, along with all the other recent Allied cavalry acquisitions, will appear in Sunday’s game.

Where to next? Well it’s back to North America to finish off the last remaining unit of the American AWI collection.

  1. I have always like the Russian horse artillery uniform, second only to that of the British. I remember when we used to play WRG it was always maddeningly expensive and for little comparative return. Lovely work on these Mark.

    1. It’s always been a favorite uniform of mine too. I had a Hinchliffe 25mm Russian horse battery under those rules…all six guns…and yes it was a horrendous cost in points, but I remember there was a really nice bareheaded officer figure holding the helmet under his arm.

  2. Very nice artillery Mark…
I can’t imagine it was easy to man a gun wearing that headgear…but that’s what I love about Napoleonics… style over practicality.

    All the best. Aly.

  3. Very nicely done. I can't imagine not fielding these due to points cost. So spiffy they are sure to shoot straight for you . Good luck on your game.

    1. Thanks. The brass work is just GW Retributor Armour over a black undercoat, then washed with a liberal costing of Nuln Oil.
