Second Battalion, Björneborgs Regiment

As tempted as I was to place a tennis racquet in the hand of the officer, I resisted. So the battalion commander is boldly leading this second battalion of the Björneborgs Regiment with sword in hand.

This unit completes the First Brigade of the Finnish army, without the commanders (which have not been released yet).

The first unit of the Second Brigade is completed and more to follow.

  1. Mark,
Again impressed with your quality and quantity of output. Lovely work.
Have you looked at the Eagle line of Swedes? You may find candidates for the brigade staff amongst the officers there. The height and heft are close to the Perry range and some of the poses "work.'

PS maybe the racquet could be slung over his back in the manner of the knapsack he is not carrying. Or stuck in the wide belt withe yellow stripes.

    1. Thanks Joe. The racquet slung across the back is a good idea! I had a look at the Eagle range, but all their figures are for the later period. A British general with an east/west bicorne is a possibility.

  2. That grey and yellow combination really grows on you. Lovely work as usual Mark, and I would have put the tennis racket in there. If I asked our children though I'm sure none of them will know who he is.

    1. Thanks Lawrence. There will be at least one regiment in the blue coats. Yes Borg vanished from public view remarkably quickly.

  3. A nice looking brigade Mark…
And recruited in very short order…

    All the best. Aly.

  4. Great work again on this unit and I love Joe's idea for the tennis racquet slung over his shoulder, although I would still love the racquet in hand approach. Too late now but the colours could have had his wins on it: Wimbledon, Rolland Garros etc ;).

    1. I think I may take the subtle approach and just place a model racquet on the command base somewhere.
