They just keep coming...

 ...Paraguayans that is.

A second battalion in this batch rolls off the production line.

Again these are in the newer marching/advancing poses, with a higher proportion of the boys wearing the chiripa.

On the painting table  now is a battalion of some Brazilian infantry in white tropical kit.

  1. I really like the scruffy nature of these troops. They look like hard campaigners.

    1. Thanks Jonathan. I like that scruffiness too, sort of like a Confederate army...with red coats, white pants and shako of course.

  3. The units that have a good mix of the chiripa are my favourites, as I love the look you achieve with them. As Jonathan has said, they look like they've been on campaign for a while and are tough hombres!

    1. Given the level of poverty that existed in Paraguay at the time it is amazing that they managed pull anything remotely resembling a uniform together, yet most seemed to at least have the red shirt.

  7. Very nice again Mark, and the chiripa definitely adds some nice variety. How far away do you think you are from putting a game on for this collection now?

    1. Gaming will be a little while away yet. All of the cavalry are done and the infantry will be done by the end of April, but gaming will depend on when the artillery and generals are available.
