Attentive readers will remember that I started these a little over a year ago. When the weekend away was postponed due to illness I put these on the back burner, but with the event now less than 30 days away I needed to get on and finish them.
So here they are, three small structures to represent a Great Lakes Indian village. I made a few pieces of clutter for this village - a couple of fire places, a stack of furs and a couple of pots. I may add a few more items of clutter before the game.
Great work Mark!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nathan. They are now all neatly packed away to head down your way at the end of next month.
DeleteWonderful looking lodges Mark!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil!
DeleteVery nice Native American settlement Mark - so we have the corner of a fort, an Indian village, and.....? Going to be an interesting game with a variety of troop types I am sure!
ReplyDeleteDon’t forget the blockhouse that I made about a year ago...yes I have set up an interesting terrain, given a mix of regulars, militia and Indians so it should keep a bunch of blokes busy on a cold day in Rotorua...of course no scenario goes as planned after the first die roll!
DeleteYou are a gifted builder. These lodges are terrific.
ReplyDeleteThant you Jonathan. Sometimes the simplest structures have the best effects. If I feel particularly enthused I may add some more to this village.
DeleteLovely looking little buildings!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain.
DeleteTerrific work Mark, and very realistic looking.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence. I am tempted to do a couple more, but with only 22 day until the big push, I am not sure I will get them completed.
DeleteVery nice Mark...
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing them on the table...
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly. I think I need some more camp clutter... maybe some beached canoes or similar.
DeleteHow about a couple of cultivated areas...
DeleteSmall Maze fields, squash patches... if that is what the are called... or maybe wild rice...
All the best. Aly
Excellent idea. I need something to keep my busy on the cold winter nights, especially since the lead pile is flattened.
DeleteThese look like resin pours or 3d prints rather than something scratch built - if that's so, where did you source these? I've a similar need for a New France colonial project I'm working on.
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely scratch built - made of an epoxy putty over a polystyrene form. This is a technique I often use. There is a similar series of huts made for a WWI in East Africa game in 2017, but made over a cardboard firm. Acheson Creations used to make a range of product for Eastern North America, but they appear to have ceased production of them.
