We ended our trip to the South on Sunday with an early morning walk around the Queenstown Gardens. Even at 8:00 AM the sun had not fully risen at this latitude and the moon, two days off full, was still up, it's light shimmering across the water of the lake, while the mountains began to catch the first light beyond the town.
Just before 3:00 PM we were home and I finished the basing on another Ottoman gun set, this time the 8.5 pound field gun.
That view of Queenstown looks familiar to me even though I don't think I ventured around that side of the lake. Another fine artillery piece and I particularly like the light blue attire.
ReplyDeleteYes the basic centre of town looks much the same as it has for years, apart from a few building facelifts, but the residential development to the east and west I'd large. I agree the boys in blue make a nice variation...I will have three batteries so attired.
DeleteQueenstown looked beautiful, as always Mark, and the new Ottoman gun and crew are very nice too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith. There are two other gun sets completed, but waiting to be based.
DeleteYou get home from a vacation and the first thing you get to do is paint miniatures??!!
ReplyDeleteNo way I could pull that off. 🤣
They look great. 😀
It wasn't the FIRST thing... I put the car away, cleared the mailbox, had a cup of coffee, based up the gun set, ordered, collected and ate the takeout dinner...THEN I painted a few figures...all within three hours of getting home!
DeleteBeautiful landscape photos and then Ottoman guns! Great day in any week
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe it us a pretty place for sure and the guns are great models to work with.
DeleteLovely views and Toys Mark…
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly ‘Living the life’ 😁
All the best. Aly
