The figures in the correct pose arrived over the weekend and made their way immediately to the painting table. I have to admit it was nice to have something different to American Civil War figures.
With these completed I have now based all three battalions of this Demi Brigade.
The First Battalion
The Second Battalion
The Third Battalion
The entire Demi Brigade
Also completed over the weekend was yet another ACW Union infantry regiment.
Painting ACW can be daunting, good job on these and the French!
ReplyDeleteThanks. There have been more ACW than I expected at this stage.
DeleteYour revolting French look great, Mark! Striped trousers are hard to do but I find only one or two such soldiers really adds to the interest of the unit. “Yet another” Federal regiment is an impressive pace you keep. How many hours effort does it take to turn out “yet another” regiment?
ReplyDeleteYes I like to get some variety on these units. Normally I can complete six figures a night so this sized unit takes three nights. But I am finding that this working from home is more tiring and I am only hitting about half that rate.
DeleteImpressive work all round, but I love your latest revolutionary French with the striped trousers. How long did the order take to arrive, and was it significantly delayed? I place one on a US manufacturer a month ago and am now wondering if it was the wisest time to do so.
ReplyDeleteI want to get another Demi Brigade before I move on to the Austrians and Russians. The delivery had an odd story...a friend of mine collected the six figures when he was in Melbourne earlier in the year but we couldn’t catch up. Then this COVID stuff started and after a couple of weeks it was posted...across city...and it took ten days!
DeleteLove your French units Mark, impressive job on the pants...
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil. I tried to get as much variation as possible in the pants so some have white, sone tan, some brown, some blue stripes and some with red stripes.
DeleteReally nice work on the Eureka figures Mark. Odd story about the mail...Nick asked me for a few soare plastic WSS heads ..I sent them on maybe Thursday and he had them early the next week. However I have had it on very good authority that currently, NZ Post has suspended postal delivery and all their staff are focussed on helping their colleagues at Courier Post clear an enormous backlog of courier freight...you may have seen their CEO plus our MD on the news over the last few days talking about the unprecedented volumes in the courier network since we went to Level 3
ReplyDeleteI really like these figures. Yes its all a bit strange on the freight front. I ordered a few bits from Mighty Ape on Friday, and they arrived on Monday, and another shipment of “vital supplies” ordered yesterday, shipped today and listed as expected tomorrow.
DeleteLovely to see the early French units Mark, looks great :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark. I need to get some more of these I think.
DeleteLovely toys Mark...
ReplyDeleteThis period has temptation written all over it...... I have already avoided it one before...and now you are going to make my butterfly flutter and flap again... đ
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly. These figures have a lot of character...lots to flutter at.
DeleteGreat work Mark, you really captured the flavour of the revolutionary period.
ReplyDeleteCracking output.
Cheers
Stu
Thanks Stu.
