French 1812-13 Infantry Complete

This week has been a busy one on the painting table and has seen the completion of a number of items that have been in progress for a while.

The last four battalions of the infantry component for thr French 1812-13 project have completed passage through the uniform store and marched to their barracks.

These are the 4th and 5th battalions of the 15th Légère Regiment...

...and 4th and 5th battalions of the 33rd Régiment de Ligne.

Also completed this weekend is the high command group of three senior officers and a carabinier standard bearer.

Half a dozen other items are in various stages on the basing tray and will appear over the next week.

    1. Thank you Jonathan. The project is very close to conclusion now with just 25 mounted figures to go. Then I guess there will be a need to a parade.

    3. A para ed will occur, but it may take some time to organise... It might be the subject of an end of year event!

    1. Thank you Phil. I was very tempted to paint up a group containing l'Empereur...and may still do it.

  5. Very nice looking collection Mark - maybe you need to do a "pass in review" of this entire project?

    1. I have done 12 line and 5 legere battalions, plus 4 cuirassiers, 2 carabiniers, four dragoons (mounted and dismounted), two hussars and and completing 2 chasseurs a cheval at the moment. Plus 13 guns, about 20 staff, some couriers and four escort squadrons. Through a miscalculation I have enough spare plastic figures to do another full battalion, but I haven't decided how to do them yet. I completed the first of the Perry Spanish artillery last night...they are marvellous.

    2. Definitely quite a collection of French, but I'm looking forward to seeing your Spanish.

    3. There are just 18 mounted figures to go now to complete the French. I must admit I am itching to get on with the Spanish...there are more than 120 shiny little castings sittilng in my study eagerly awaiting their painted uniforms. I hope tompost the images of the first Spanish gun set tonight.

  7. Splendid stuff Mark...
You definitely need a parade... possibly with music...

    All the best. Aly

    1. A parad is a wonderful idea, but the problem is time right at the moment...life in the real world is stupidly busy and with the silly season about to start...but I have been doing som training videos at work of late and see some potential for the little men to get into the movies...and that would enable sound! I know just the piece for a parade.
