Today I completed the 5th Hussars, the second (and last) of the hussar regiments for
Burthe’s 8th Light Cavalry Brigade of Pajol’s 2nd Light Cavalry Division at Borodino.
I like the mix of the dark blue dolman and breeches, with the white pellise and yellow lace.
The second brigade of this division, Desirat's 7th Brigade, will contain two regiments of Chasseurs a Cheval and will be completed in November.
Your 5th Hussars is truly an impressive sight deployed in battle line. Outstanding!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan. I am rather keen to see these deployed on a table.
DeleteMost impressive unit, they look superb!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil. I think hussars always look impressive.
DeleteHi Mark
DeleteRan across your blog the other day as I have been looking around the web as part of returning to war gaming after 30 years. Great to see that you are still playing! Best Andrew Young
My God that is a name from the past! I think the last time I saw you was 1995 in the old shop in Marua Road. Where are you domiciled now, still in Oz or are you back in NZ now?
DeleteLovely looking unit of hussars!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you Iain. I think this will be the last unit of hussars for a while.
DeleteGreat stuff - a stunning looking unit!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteA splendid looking unit...
ReplyDeleteThe white pellise really lifts the other colours...
All the best. Aly
I have since given them a light drybrush of gray to the black fur trim on the pellise and it makes gives them that little bit of a lift.
