It has been a busy couple of weeks on the painting table since we go back from holiday. In that time I have completed three French 1812-13 battalions and started another two – 83 figures in all.
Now in fairness I had done 42 figures before I went away, but simply had not based them up.
First up is the 2nd battalion, 15th Légère.
Next is 3rd Battalion 48th de Ligne.
Finally is 4th Battalion 48th de Ligne.
The 3rd/15th Légère and 5th/48th are waiting for the command figures to arrive – next week I hope.
Meanwhile passing through the uniform store at present is a regiment of hussars, the 9th.
Mark! This represents a massively handsome group of Frenchmen. You really are a painting machine. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jonathan, but you are managing to crank out a few figures at the moment too! This task was greatly aided by the fact that nearly half the figures are in greatcoat, significantly reducing painting time.
DeleteVery nice Mark - I assume these are Perry plastics? Did you ever get any of the Brits? I just painted my first battalion of them and was very impressed with the number of poses one could create although I would have liked the ability to create a few more flank co figures...I have just completed a battalion of the 95th (twelve figures at two per base, should have them posted on here later this evening when the basing has been completed
ReplyDeleteYes they are Perry plastics...that is nine battalions down, eight to go. No I haven't looked at the Brits - figured you have enough for all of us! That said I will be doing a few at some time. I have six gun sets on the way so that I can raid the plastic limbers for the British in Egypt. Just finished unit of plastic French Hussars tonight...really nice.
DeleteGreat looking units Mark, my favorite is the 15ème léger, with its beautiful and diversified poses...
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil. I also like the léger battalion, but they are quite difficult to base.
ReplyDeleteThey may be in greatcoats, but I can't believe how quickly you have managed to complete these. It feels like you have only been back from holidays for a week.
ReplyDeleteAt six figures a night they add up pretty quickly. Trust me it has been more than a week... Two weeks in fact, 14 long days...that's over 330 hours, you know...not that I am counting of course. I have just started the bases on a unit of hussars that look really good.
DeleteLovely looking French infantry, and so many in a short time!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank Iain. There are more infantry to come, but I will take a break for a while and focus on some mounted troops and artillery.
DeleteSplendid stuff Mark
ReplyDeleteThere’s no holding you back ...is there.
All the best. Aly
Well I need to do something in the wpevening now that we have stopped eating and drinking our way around France!
DeleteMore French infantry arrived in the doorstep this morning so watch this space...
