Another Confederate Infantry Regiment

Just a small post today to show that I haven’t been completely inactive.

Here is a Confederate infantry regiment - number 11 of the current batch I think.

There is just one Union and one Confederate unit to be finished in this batch.

In truth I am a suffering from ACW fatigue and looking forward to something a little different in a couple of weeks.

  1. Good looking result! Better to switch gears and paint something else if you are feeling a little fatigue. I like your single element BMUs.

    1. Yes I need a change. I have avoided purchasing from overseas in part because of the problem of supply and in part because of uncertainty of employment. All this means that I haven’t ordered any figures since February and have been working on what was intended to be the emergency fall back - the ACW plastics. Although employment is still uncertain snd the supply issue remains...it is time for an order!

The jury is still out on the single bases. I guess it will take a game to prove the point.

  3. Good looking troops. Changing gears (periods) usually helps me stay interested. It is supposed to be a hobby, after all. :-0

    1. I usually try to have a few odd bits and bobs from other projects lying about just to get a bit of variety, but its been nothing but ACW since March...don’t get me wrong ACW was my first love, but I long to paint some red, yellow or green...before the paints dry in their pots!

  5. Fatigue after 11 units... I hit the wall around 3 units.
Those are great Mark, a nice mix of uniform and colourings.

    1. But then again you as talking so someone who painted 48 battalions of Crimean infantry in a little over six months...but at least with that project there was a bit more colour variation.

  6. Another great addition, and there will be nothing like the feeling of satisfaction once you are complete.

    1. Complete...is that a real or fake word?

    2. I think it is real enough, although I recently purchased another 32 Gauls for the Gallic army I completed early last year. That really only makes them more complete, in my mind.

You have certainly raced this project... how soon will you be having a game?

    All the best. Aly
