14e Régiment de Dragons

After a fairly solid three months working on the British in Egypt (and completing all but two gun sets - that are yet to be ordered) I have returned the French in Egypt with phase one of the extension to that army. This phase is simply a single regiment of dragoons - the 14th Regiment, with rose pink facing, without its regimental standard for the moment.

There were five dragoon regiments in Egypt: the 3rd, 14th, 15th, 18th and 20th.  I have already done the 3rd Regiment (in red facings) so I simply selected next in the order of battle. As tempting as it was to do all five regiments I have resisted the temptation.

Phase two of this expansion, scheduled to be ordered late this month, will see another six infantry battalions, six generals and three gun sets added.

    1. Thank you Jonathan. Phases are based on purchasing schedules of course. I do like these dragoons and am having to work had to resist another regiment..perhaps in boots this time...no, no, no must not. Next is some dragoons of another type...ctually there are four lots of dragoons under assembly at present.

  4. Looks very nice!
Is it the plan to paint one phase before purchasing another? That would award you extra points for discipline! 😀

    1. Not quite, although I am quite disciplined in my purchase and planning. I make my major purchase every second month to take the best advantage of free postage, etc and never buy more than I can paint within that period. There are usually one or two smaller purchases to fill gaps in painting time. In this way the lead mountain is never too high and I can keep focus on the projects.

    1. I agree, that colour combination pleased me too, although I was doubtful when I first considered it.
