...it was shaping up to be a stunner...and we were leaving to go home...
By mid-afternoon we were back in Auckland where it was warm, the skies were equally blue, but the wind was gusting to gale strength, and I spent the evening finishing off the pontoon train set that I started a week ago.
The set consists of the engineer officer and the four pontooniers carrying beams...
The wagon, with timbers stacked for transport...
The wagon with the pontoon loaded...
And then with the horse teams that I had painted a month or more ago.
The whole set goes nicely with the pontooniers and the pontoon bridge set and workmen that I worked on back in September (here).
Inspirational! James
ReplyDeleteThanks James, its a lovely set.
DeleteWeather a bit better looking than here in the North of Scotland that's for sure! Lovely little set, should dress the table very nicely, very handy wagons and miniatures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie. It lovely summer weather now, but more windbus forecast fir New Year's Eve.
DeleteA great model and beautifully painted and put together Mark. I'll look forward to its debut in a Sunday game.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for a while for this piece...its been out of stock the last three times I have gone to order it. It completes the whole pontoon set.
DeleteThat is another nice-looking set, Mark!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith...have to create a scenario for if now.
DeleteSod's Law the weather turns lovely just as you are getting ready to leave! We've had cloud and mist all over Xmas so a desperate to see some blue skies. Love the pontoon set, which has given me some ideas to try and convert some existing wagons I have:).
ReplyDeleteI have to admit another day of sun down there would have been nice with the opportunity to kayak on the lake.
DeleteOutstanding! Magnificent figures and beautiful visuals
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark.
