More Carlist Infantry

This week sees the completion of two more Carlist infantry units.

A Navarre unit...

...and a Guipuzcoan unit in summer dress (in white trousers).

There are only two Carlist units to go in this expansion project.

  1. More nice work here Mark - you have started 2019 with a hiss and a roar! So far, I have managed to paint six (yes a whole SIX!) Perry British Napoleonic Light Dragoons - I have been caught up doing some other stuff (reading, watching TV series etc) and just don't seem to have the painting motivation at the moment!

    1. Yes clearing out old stock and finishing off the Carlists. Then it will,be time to start on something new. So you still have six dragoons to go?

    2. Well...I have ten made up in the later (shako) uniform - I will probably do units of 5 x 2 bases because all my other Wo1812 cavalry are OG and they come in packets of ten, plus there was very little cavalry in the American war anyway, as you know - so the remaining four I may do in Tarletons and use as Canadian militia cavalry, although the dolmans seem to be wrong and the cross belts go the wrong way..but I might just not worry about that!

    1. Thnks Phil. The grey was just GW Celatra Grey with a wash of Aly's Brown Liquid. It gives a nice dirty grey.

  3. Excellent work, Mark! Your Carlist project must be getting huge. 455 painting points already and January is not even half past? Amazing.

    1. The last two units on te paining table will give me 18 foot and 6 mounted a side, which is quite enough for this period. It is amazing how quickly the points add up as 30-40 per night.

    1. Thanks Stu. All I need to do now is get a campaign going like your Haiti campaign!

  7. Lovely looking troops...
The Perry’s Carlist War range is one of my favourites... it’s a great temptation.

    All the best. Aly

    1. I agree they are a great range snd I need to play more games in this era.

When the final battalion is completed tomorrow I am planning a parade that should appear later in the week.
