This battalion I have done in brown coats of varying tones.
I particularly like the officer nonchalantly leaning on his sword.
Below are all three battalions - the new brown coated unit to the rear, with the green/brown coats on the left and the grey coats on the right.
Splendid they are Mark!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil. Theses are really great little figures. The problem is that I have hit the bottom of the lead pile, so nothing left to paint!
DeleteWonderful - I like your trees too!
ReplyDeleteThanks. While some of the trees are Woodlands Scenics trunks, most of them arehome made from twisted wire and tissue paper...I made about a hundred of them for a refight of Pea Ridge some 12 years ago.
DeleteNothing left to paint Mark - that sounds like poor forward planning to me! Now I suppose you will give us a sob story about unexpected domestic expenses! Hopefully your next draft of troops are in sight over the horizon....
ReplyDeleteWell I managed to strung the last lot out as long as this, but austerity reigns for at least another week. I guess I will have to get back ti the buildings.
DeleteExcellent assortment of rabble militia, Mark! Banners really add color to these otherwise drab soldiers. As Stryker noted, your winter trees are fab!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan. I remember that the trees caused much angst when we used them. Being made of twisted wire, there was a constat chorus of cries of pain followed by a bout of cursing as players stabbed themselves on the wire ends. I found it quite amusing until I did it myself! Thank goodness there are no health and safety inspectors at wargames.
DeleteYour lead pile is empty, I didn't think that happened! :) Great work on these!
ReplyDeleteA strange phenomenon I must admit, but it is only temporary...a new pile should develop towards the end of the month. Meantime there is plenty of building work to keep me amused.
