Grenadier Battalion Welsberg

Today sees the completion of the fourth battalion in my Austrian expansion - Battalion Welsberg. - made from Victrix miniatures

The battalion was made up of two companies each of Regiment Number 16 Erzherzog Rudolf (pale yellow facings), Regiment Number 26 Hohenlohe-Bartenstein (green facings) and Regiment Number 27 Chasteler (yellow facings).

It will be brigaded with my two other grenadier battalions.

  1. Very nicely done. I like seeing converged grenadier that show off their parent units differences.

    1. Thanks Donnie. Victrix are a bugger to assemble, but the final results are great.

    1. I am well practiced with white uniforms now, having done Austrian and Spanish Napoleonics, plus the French from the AWI.

  7. Well those have come out a treat and given the white and yellow not the easiest uniforms to paint so very well done.

    1. Oddly I never seem to gave a problem with yellow, but white before Contrast paints was always a challenge.

    1. Thank you Jonathan. Sadly in our games seeing Austrian troops from the rear is a common sight for the opposing side!

    1. Well it was supposed to be only three battalions until those four donated battalions turned up.

  11. As good as they get. Wonderful you will have enough on table to terrorize opponents.

    1. Thanks Joe, but in our games when large numbers of Austrians appear most seem to think "...pah...they are only Austrians!" So here's hoping to break that thought.
