The 75e Demi-Brigade de Bataille

Last week's work was these three battalions of the 75e Demi-Brigade de Bataille, the last line unit of the French in Egypt project.

In their scarlet coats with sky blue facings they are a pretty dapper looking bunch, I think.

Only three units left in the French in Egypt project...well maybe only three...

  1. Great work on these, and that is a nice colour combination. It must be nice to have completed the last of the line, and have only three more unit remaining for the French.

    1. Ha ha ha...end of the project...hmmm I can already see an expansion developing!

I had an early finish today to get some new tyres and spent some of the afternoon working on the last of the hussars. The look amazing - and should be availble for display by the end of the week.

    2. That will be something to look forward to Mark.

Unlike the bill for the new set of tyres I got hit with two weeks before Christmas on a car with just over 16,000 kilometres on the clock. Apparently I was doing well to get them past 15,000 was the service bloke's response to my, as the kids say, "WTF" line of inquiry.

Mind you, the wife's response to me was far stronger when I suggested that there could be no greater gift at Christmas than ensuring she was safely navigating the highways and byways of Brisbane on new tyres.

I know the Ottomans are ahead of you, but are you planning to do the British as well?

    3. Wow 16,000 k is low - I got 60,000+ out of mine. My wife works for a tyre company so tyre costs for us isn't much of an issue, but I have been told that those tyres are my birthday present - my birthday is in June...and it will be my 60th! Of course my my veiled threat to remember that her birthday falls before mine fell on deaf ears.

    1. If you liked that combination you will like the next...a demi-brigade legére bright green coats with either dark blue or puce facings - haven't decided which yet.

    1. Well probably half the project really because I will need some opposition, the plan for which will be a first purchase late this month.
