Most of the flags will be similar, but they seem to be of the 1766 pattern onwards, although there is mention of some regiments carrying earlier flags. The information is on flags is rather sparse.Mark Strachanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05988775093525037168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-59300205219944214622021-11-28T10:04:23.832+13:002021-11-28T10:04:23.832+13:00Nice work on these Finnish Swedes Mark - the names...Nice work on these Finnish Swedes Mark - the names and flags are going to be very reminiscent of my recent GNW extravaganza!rrosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07316317334203888350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-52294184893892914982021-11-28T08:59:05.101+13:002021-11-28T08:59:05.101+13:00A fine start Mark, and it is a fascinating and oft...A fine start Mark, and it is a fascinating and often overlooked area. You could also add some 1805-unformed Spanish as allies for the Danes and Russians to fight the British and Swedes. It always gives me a chuckle when I think of La Romana's division sitting there in Denmark wondering what to do next after Napoleon invaded Spain, and then stealing a bunch of Danish ships to rendezvous with the British.Lawrence Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11626386564817082992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-66236950811949900742021-11-28T07:49:19.222+13:002021-11-28T07:49:19.222+13:00Hurrah!… The butterfly has landed…😁

Life is too short IMHO! In the 1st or 2nd War, Palmerston contemplated a British intervention force IIRC, so plenty of historical precedent for going down that route. As always history gives us many avenues to explore:)Steve J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12143308117853983963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-39703896385139314702021-11-27T22:01:01.564+13:002021-11-27T22:01:01.564+13:00Thanks Steve. I too thought of the Schleswig-Holstein War, but the second one in 1864 - I have the Prussians and Austrians already - and there is a ‘what if’ there too because the Princess of Wales (Bertie’s wife Alexandria) was Danish…a British intervention force perhaps?Mark Strachanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05988775093525037168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-505657469062810802021-11-27T21:55:04.595+13:002021-11-27T21:55:04.595+13:00Thanks. I too have pondered some 'what if?' campaigns in a similar area, but based around the 1848 Schleswig-Holstein War, with Denmark, Prussia, Russia, Sweden and Austria fighting it out around the Baltic.

As always some very nice figures and I hope you manage to figure out a cost effective way of getting some 1808 Russians to you.Steve J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12143308117853983963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-21652330678933763542021-11-27T17:04:39.299+13:002021-11-27T17:04:39.299+13:00Nice start! You have made a good choice of theater to model, as the Perry line is great for the Finnish campaign time period and two of the three light battalions are from the Finish group of the Swedish Army.pancernihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09108442113999809459noreply@blogger.com
