On Monday I completed the last two units of infantry in my Imperial Guard - although I may yet do one more unit to represent the Chasseurs of the Guard.
The first of those two final battalions is the Third Battalion, First Grenadier Regiment.
The second unit is the Third Battalion, Second Voltigeur Regiment.
In all there are 200 foot and four mounted figures - all completed in just over a month.
And the completion of such a force deserves a parade, right? So here goes...

Fantastic work, Mark! Super fast too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan. When I looked back to the start I was surprised how quickly it came together...just goes to show how quickly six figures a day adds up!
DeleteCrackin' work Mark!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray
DeleteAnother cracking unit and loved the video with the projector sound affect in the background:)!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. I though the video was a better way to present the parade rather than another dozen phouographs!
DeleteThat was a massive effort Mark. They look great assembled together and the video is a nice idea. These units should pack quite a punch and give the Prussians something to think about.
ReplyDeleteI have another batch of equal size - actually a little larger, but a mix of infantry cavalry and artillery - that I started last night. The video was fun, but even at low resolution it is 45MB.
DeleteFantastic work Mark. Great seeing them on parade
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil. Parades are always worthwhile!
Deletekeeps you off the streets , in itself a public good Huzzah! when do you fly ?
ReplyDeleteThanks Bruce...we head off on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteFantastic work Mark. I loved the video and its effects. I can imagine Messrs. Lumiere running it to full houses. 😁
ReplyDeleteAn enormous amount of work. It must take you a few hours each day to get through your 6 figures.
Thanks Ben. Normally it takes about three hours to complete six figures - maybe an hour before dinner and two after. But these figures, with much more detail, take around five hours.
DeleteWow! Fantastic effort and a great result to show for it.
DeleteVery nice work again Mark, the Voltigeurs are my favourites still - its the yella!
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith. My favourites are the zouaves...they have a swagger to them.
DeleteGreat. Simply a marvelous group for your collection, the parade is a treat for the eve ing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe. Making the parade was a bit of fun!
DeleteSuperb collection, really impressive Mark.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donnie.
DeleteI love a parade. I think it would take me just two years to achieve a similar result!
ReplyDeleteStephen
Thanks Stephen.
