Franco-Prussian War French Imperial Guard - The Infantry of the Guard COMPLETE!

On Monday I completed the last two units of infantry in my Imperial Guard - although I may yet do one more unit to represent the Chasseurs of the Guard.

The first of those two final battalions is the Third Battalion, First Grenadier Regiment.

The second unit is the Third Battalion, Second Voltigeur Regiment.

In all there are 200 foot and four mounted figures - all completed in just over a month.

And the completion of such a force deserves a parade, right? So here goes...

    1. Thanks Jonathan. When I looked back to the start I was surprised how quickly it came together...just goes to show how quickly six figures a day adds up!

    1. Thanks Steve. I though the video was a better way to present the parade rather than another dozen phouographs!

  3. That was a massive effort Mark. They look great assembled together and the video is a nice idea. These units should pack quite a punch and give the Prussians something to think about.

    1. I have another batch of equal size - actually a little larger, but a mix of infantry cavalry and artillery - that I started last night. The video was fun, but even at low resolution it is 45MB.

  7. Fantastic work Mark. I loved the video and its effects. I can imagine Messrs. Lumiere running it to full houses. 😁

An enormous amount of work. It must take you a few hours each day to get through your 6 figures.

    1. Thanks Ben. Normally it takes about three hours to complete six figures - maybe an hour before dinner and two after. But these figures, with much more detail, take around five hours.
