Remember the old Britain’s trees? They had a plastic trunk, plug in boughs and a soft plastic plug on foliage. This should be possible with 3D printing, with the ability to create foliage with individual leaves. They could look good, be relatively cheap and would be robust for wargames use. But I can’t summon the enthusiasm to learn the 3D drawing software.Mark Strachanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05988775093525037168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-83111994143480109832020-02-23T19:44:08.283+13:002020-02-23T19:44:08.283+13:00They are a bit of work, but I figure that once I g...They are a bit of work, but I figure that once I get the process sorted I can make a good number in a batch.Mark Strachanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05988775093525037168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-49328840536797849132020-02-23T16:17:46.141+13:002020-02-23T16:17:46.141+13:00I like the way that they all coming together. Regarding the wire, I baked some sculpty back in college, and since then I have found that the wire framed pieces have held up, but the unsupported pieces did not. So if you want more than a few years out of the trees, I would consider the wire (you could use a single strand of heavier gauge wire if that speeds things along)Lasgunpackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13529298072677726064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4202191777127653648.post-88226225144265526792020-02-22T10:14:33.136+13:002020-02-22T10:14:33.136+13:00Looks good Mark. At some point I need to make some trees that will work in with my 54mm figures, and I like the idea of using the coconut matting.
